Mangrove Marine National Park

Mangrove Marine National Park offers families an incredible opportunity to explore Abu Dhabi's unique coastal ecosystem through kayaking adventures, peaceful nature walks, and exceptional bird watching. 1. 1.Book kayak rentals in advance through local operators, as they're not provided directly by the park and can fill up quickly during peak tourist season.
2. 2.Visit early morning (10:00-11:00 AM opening) for the best wildlife viewing and cooler temperatures, especially important in Abu Dhabi's heat.
3. 3.Bring binoculars for kids to spot the diverse bird species including flamingos, herons, and osprey that inhabit the mangroves.
4. 4.Pack reef-safe sunscreen, wide-brimmed hats, and plenty of water as shade is limited on the trails and kayaking routes.
5. 5.Wear closed-toe water shoes or sandals with straps, as you may need to wade in shallow water during kayaking activities.

October through April offers the most comfortable weather for outdoor activities, with morning visits (10:00 AM to noon) providing the best combination of wildlife activity and bearable temperatures. Avoid midday heat during summer months.

Entry to the park is free, but kayak rentals cost extra and must be arranged through third-party operators. Limited food options are available on-site, so pack snacks and drinks for the kids.

The cooler months from October to April provide the most comfortable visiting conditions. Summer (May to September) can be extremely hot and humid, making outdoor activities challenging for young children. Migratory bird populations are highest during winter months.

Yas Island, located about 20 minutes away, offers numerous family-friendly dining options including international chains and local Emirati restaurants. The Corniche area also has various cafes and restaurants with kid-friendly menus within a 15-minute drive.
