Entry is very affordable (under $10 AUD per person, children under 2 free), making it excellent value. Limited on-site parking is available on St Heliers Street, but public transport via tram or train to nearby Abbotsford is recommended for international visitors.

Spring (September to November) is the best time to visit when baby animals are born. The farm runs special school holiday programs during Australian school breaks (April, July, September, December/January). Summer can be very hot, so morning visits are recommended December through February.

Abbotsford Convent Bakery (5-minute walk) offers family-friendly meals, excellent coffee, and pastries in a beautiful historic setting. Smith Street in nearby Collingwood (10-minute walk) has numerous casual cafes and restaurants including pizza, Asian cuisine, and kid-friendly options.
