Leopold Park offers families a perfect urban oasis in the heart of Brussels, combining playgrounds, wide open lawns for running and playing, and a peaceful lake where you can rent rowing boats. This centrally located green space provides an excellent spot for letting kids burn off energy between museum visits or sightseeing, with plenty of shaded areas for picnics and pathways ideal for strollers or young cyclists.

The park is beautiful year-round but truly shines in spring (April-May) when flowers bloom and summer for water activities. Boat rentals on the lake typically operate from April through September. Winter visits are still pleasant for walks, though playgrounds may be less appealing in cold weather.

The Place du Luxembourg area (5-minute walk) has numerous family-friendly cafes and restaurants including Belgian waffle stands. Alternatively, grab sandwiches or pastries from Pain Quotidien or local bakeries on Rue du Trone before heading to the park for a picnic.
