Visit on weekday mornings during summer (July-August) for the warmest swimming weather and smaller crowds. Early mornings offer calmer waters and the best chance at spotting local wildlife. Spring and fall are perfect for trail walks when the park is less busy.

Admission and parking are completely free. There are public washrooms and change rooms available during summer months. No lifeguards are on duty, so supervise children closely while swimming. Bring your own food and drinks as there are no on-site concessions.

Swimming is best from June through early September when water temperatures are warmest. Washroom facilities may have limited hours or be closed in winter months. Fall brings beautiful foliage around the lake. The park and trails remain open year-round for walking and exploring.

Coquitlam Centre mall (5 minutes drive) has numerous family-friendly chains including White Spot, a BC favorite known for its Pirate Packs for kids. For a quick bite closer to the park, there are several casual restaurants along North Road with pizza and Asian cuisine options.
