1. 1.Take the train to Uetliberg station and start from the top, walking downhill to make it easier for kids. The reverse route is more challenging but doable for energetic families.

3. 3.Pack plenty of water and snacks as there are limited facilities along the trail. The restaurant at Uetliberg summit (Uto Kulm) is a good refreshment stop.

The trail is completely free and accessible 24/7. You'll need to purchase Swiss train tickets to reach the trailhead (consider a Swiss Travel Pass for family discounts). Limited food options along the trail, so pack supplies.

Best hiked April through October when weather is mild and trails are clear. Winter hiking is possible but requires extra caution due to ice and snow. Some planet stations may be partially covered in winter. Spring wildflowers and fall colors add extra beauty to the journey.

Uto Kulm restaurant at Uetliberg summit offers traditional Swiss dishes and a child-friendly terrace with views. In Horgen town, Restaurant Seerose near the lake has family-friendly options and a playground nearby.
