Spring (April to June) and early fall (September) offer the best weather with mild temperatures and blooming gardens. Weekday mornings are ideal for avoiding crowds, while Sunday afternoons bring a lovely local family atmosphere. Summer can be hot but perfect for shaded picnics.

Admission is completely free and the park is open 24 hours. Street parking nearby can be challenging and expensive (use public transport instead: tram lines 7 or 13 to Rietberg stop). There are no cafes or restaurants inside the park, so bring your own refreshments.

While open year-round, the park is most enjoyable from April through October when gardens are in bloom and weather is pleasant. Winter visits are possible but playgrounds may be wet or snowy. Check local listings for special summer concerts and seasonal festivals that are often family-friendly.

Enge Market (5-minute walk) has several family-friendly cafes and bakeries perfect for grabbing snacks before your park visit. Restaurant Schuh on nearby Seestrasse offers Swiss comfort food with a kids menu and outdoor seating.
