Sentier du Littoral

Sentier du Littoral is a stunning coastal path that winds along the Mediterranean shoreline, offering families an easy, scenic walk with breathtaking sea views and opportunities to spot local wildlife and colorful coastal flowers. The well-maintained trails are gentle enough for young walkers, with plenty of spots to stop for photos, picnics, or simply to watch the azure waves lap against the rocky coast.

1. 1.Start early in the morning (8-9am) to avoid midday heat and crowds, especially during summer months when temperatures soar.
2. 2.Bring plenty of water and sun protection: there is very little shade along the coastal path. A sun hat and reef-safe sunscreen are essential.
3. 3.Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes with good grip as some sections have uneven rocks and can be slippery, especially after rain or near spray zones.
4. 4.Pack a picnic to enjoy at one of the scenic viewpoints or small beaches along the route. There are limited facilities on the trail itself.
5. 5.The section between Cap d'Antibes and Juan-les-Pins is most family-friendly, with the easiest terrain and most frequent access points if little legs get tired.

Visit in spring (April-May) or early fall (September-October) for comfortable temperatures and fewer tourists. Go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the intense midday sun. Weekdays are quieter than weekends when locals also enjoy the path.

The trail is free to access with multiple entry and exit points along the coast. Public parking is available in Juan-les-Pins (fees apply in summer). There are no facilities along most sections, so plan bathroom breaks before starting.

Best enjoyed April through October when weather is warm and pleasant. Summer (July-August) can be very hot and crowded. Winter months are quieter but some sections may be closed if storms damage the path. The trail occasionally closes temporarily for maintenance or after severe weather, so check local conditions before visiting.

Head to Place de la Pinede in Juan-les-Pins for family-friendly cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating, including creperies and pizza spots that welcome children. Le Village offers casual beachside dining with simple kids' menus and relaxed atmosphere.
