1. 1.Bring wellies (rain boots) and waterproof clothing year-round as Scottish coastal weather changes quickly and kids will want to explore rock pools regardless of conditions

3. 3.Park at the small car park off the B1348 near Preston Tower for easiest access to the trails
4. 4.The terrain can be uneven with some muddy patches, so sturdy pushchairs or baby carriers work better than lightweight strollers

Visit during spring and summer (April to September) for the warmest weather and best wildlife viewing, with early mornings on weekdays offering the quietest experience. Low tide times are ideal for beach exploration and rock pooling.

Admission is completely free with limited free parking available nearby. There are no facilities on site, so bring snacks, drinks, and use restrooms before arriving (nearest amenities in Tranent village, about 1.5 miles away).

Accessible year-round, but spring and summer offer the most pleasant conditions. Winter visits can be beautiful but require proper waterproof gear. Spring is excellent for nesting seabirds, while summer provides the warmest beach weather.

The Winton Arms in Tranent (1.5 miles away) offers traditional pub food with a kids menu. For more options, the historic town of North Berwick is about 6 miles east with numerous family-friendly cafes and restaurants along the high street.
