Dwarka Park

Dwarka Park is a peaceful wetland preserve in Delhi that offers families a wonderful escape into nature without spending a rupee. Visit between October and March during the cooler, dry season, ideally early morning (6-8am) on weekdays. Winter months bring migratory birds, making it the best season for bird watching, and the pleasant temperatures make walking comfortable for kids.

Admission is completely free. There's limited parking nearby, so consider using Delhi Metro (Dwarka Sector 9 station is closest). Bring your own food and water as there are no vendors inside the preserve.

Best visited October through March when temperatures are cooler and migratory birds arrive. Summer months (April-June) can be extremely hot and uncomfortable for extended outdoor activities. Monsoon season (July-September) brings rain and humidity but also lush greenery.

Head to Courtyard, Dwarka (about 2km away) for family-friendly North Indian cuisine in a comfortable setting, or try the various food courts at City Centre Mall, Dwarka for diverse options including pizza, sandwiches, and Indian snacks that appeal to kids.
