Madaba Archaeological Park

Visit between October and April when temperatures are cooler and more comfortable for outdoor exploration. Weekday mornings (Tuesday through Thursday) tend to be less crowded than weekends. Aim for the 8:00 AM opening to enjoy the site before tour groups arrive and before midday heat.

Entry is completely free, making this an excellent budget-friendly attraction. The park has shaded areas but bring water and sun protection as you'll be outdoors. There are restrooms on site and the paths are mostly accessible, though some ancient areas have uneven surfaces.

Open year-round, but summer months (June through August) can be extremely hot with temperatures exceeding 90°F (32°C), making morning visits essential. Spring (March-May) brings pleasant weather and occasional wildflowers. Winter (December-February) can be chilly but manageable with layers.

Haret Jdoudna Restaurant Complex, just a 5-minute walk away, offers traditional Jordanian cuisine in a beautiful courtyard setting with options kids will enjoy like grilled chicken and fresh bread. Ayola Coffee on the main street serves light meals, pastries, and familiar options alongside quality coffee for parents.
