Cherry blossoms bloom late March to early April, creating magical photo opportunities. The shrine hosts special festivals in summer (July 30-August 1) with traditional performances and food stalls that families enjoy. New Year's (January 1-3) is extremely crowded but offers unique cultural experiences with festive decorations.

Family-friendly restaurants line the approach to the shrine, including casual udon and soba noodle shops perfect for kids. Sumiyoshi Park, a short walk away, has great picnic spots if you prefer bringing your own food from convenience stores nearby.
