Tennoji Zoo

Tennoji Zoo is one of Japan's oldest and most beloved zoos, offering families a fantastic day exploring diverse animal habitats from African savannas to Asian forests. Admission is very affordable at approximately 500 yen for adults and free for elementary-aged children and younger. The zoo is easily accessible via Tennoji Station, and stroller rentals are available at the entrance.

The zoo is closed every Monday (or the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). Summer months can be very hot and humid, so bring sun protection and water. Winter visits are pleasant but dress warmly as most exhibits are outdoors.

Tennoji MIO shopping complex adjacent to the station offers multiple family-friendly restaurants including conveyor belt sushi and Japanese curry shops. Abeno Harukas, Japan's tallest building nearby, has a food court on the 12th floor with diverse options and high chairs available.
