2. 2.Bring sun protection (hats, sunscreen) as much of the village exploration is outdoors with limited shade, and comfortable walking shoes for navigating the expansive grounds.
3. 3.The cultural performance includes loud drums and sudden movements that might startle very young children, so consider sitting toward the middle or back rows for an easy exit if needed.

Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are best as they feature the full cultural performance at 3:30pm, which is the main attraction. Weekday visits may have performances available for pre-booked groups only. Arrive in early afternoon to explore the village homesteads before the show. The dry seasons (January to March and July to October) offer the most comfortable weather for outdoor exploration.

Entry fees are approximately 1,000 KES for adults and 500 KES for children (around $8-15 USD depending on exchange rates). The site has a restaurant serving traditional cuisine, restrooms, and a gift shop. Most signs are in English, and guides often speak English, making it accessible for international visitors.

The Bomas is open year-round, but the dry seasons (January to March and July to October) provide the best weather for outdoor exploration. During rainy seasons (April to June and November to December), bring rain gear as village tours are mostly outdoors. Special extended performances may be offered during Kenyan holidays and festivals.

The on-site Utamaduni Restaurant serves traditional Kenyan dishes including child-friendly options like grilled meats, rice, and fresh fruit. For international options, the Carnivore Restaurant is about 10 minutes away and offers a unique meat experience with vegetarian options and a family-friendly atmosphere.
