Ilsan Lake Park

Ilsan Lake Park is one of Asia's largest artificial lakes, offering 540 acres of green space perfect for active families. With dedicated playgrounds, bike paths, paddleboat rentals, and stunning seasonal flower gardens, this free attraction provides a full day of outdoor fun without the hefty price tag of typical tourist spots.

Visit on weekday mornings (10am to 1pm) to avoid crowds, or during spring (April to May) for cherry blossoms and tulip festivals. Weekends get very busy with local families, especially near the playgrounds and bike rental areas.

Admission is completely free. Parking is available at multiple entrances (small fee applies, around 2,000-3,000 won). Bring cash as many vendors don't accept international cards. The park is stroller-friendly with paved paths throughout.

Spring (April to May) features spectacular tulip and cherry blossom festivals. Fall (September to October) brings colorful cosmos flowers. Winter can be cold and windy by the lake, so dress warmly. Summer evenings offer extended fountain shows and cooler temperatures for comfortable exploration.

LaFesta shopping complex is a 10-minute walk away with many family-friendly restaurants including Outback Steakhouse and various Korean BBQ spots with English menus. The Western Dom food court in nearby Lotte Department Store offers familiar options like pizza and pasta if kids need a break from Korean cuisine.
