Open year-round. The cool, dry season (November to February) offers the most comfortable weather for exploring. During Lao New Year (Pi Mai) in mid-April, the temple becomes especially vibrant with celebrations, though also more crowded. Rainy season (May to October) means fewer tourists but bring umbrellas.

Night Market on Sisavangvong Road (5-minute walk) offers family-friendly street food stalls with grilled meats, noodles, and fresh fruit smoothies. Coconut Garden Restaurant nearby serves mild Lao dishes and Western options like fried rice and spring rolls that appeal to kids.
