Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya

The temple is open year-round, but especially vibrant during Vesak (May, celebrating Buddha's birth) and Duruthu Perahera (January, commemorating Buddha's visit to Sri Lanka) when spectacular decorations and processions occur. Monsoon season (May-September and October-January) may mean wet conditions, so bring umbrellas.
