Maharagama Central Park

Maharagama Central Park offers families a peaceful escape with plenty of space for children to run, play, and explore in a safe outdoor environment. This is a free public park with no admission fee. Facilities may be basic compared to Western standards, so bring your own snacks, drinks, and hand sanitizer. Limited English signage is available throughout the park.

Best visited during the dry season from December to March. The southwest monsoon (May to September) brings heavy afternoon rains. During Sinhala and Tamil New Year in April, the park hosts special community celebrations that families might enjoy.

Head to Maharagama town center (5 minutes away) for local Sri Lankan rice and curry restaurants that welcome families, or visit Keells Super for familiar snacks and drinks. For Western-style food, Colombo's restaurant district is about 30 minutes away.
