Visit early morning (7am to 10am) or late afternoon (3pm onwards) for the calmest waters and smallest crowds. Weekdays are quieter than weekends when locals visit. December through April offers the best weather, though the beach is enjoyable year-round.

The beach is free to access and open 24 hours. Limited free street parking is available nearby, or pay about $5 USD at small lots within walking distance. Several beach clubs offer chair rentals (around $10 USD) and food service, or bring your own snacks and use the public areas.

Year-round destination with warmest water May through October. Hurricane season runs June through November, with September and October most active. Winter months (December to March) can have occasional seaweed and slightly cooler water but still very swimmable. Easter week and Christmas holidays bring larger crowds.

Along the main square (just two blocks from the beach), try Los Pelicanos for kid-friendly fish tacos and fresh juice, or La Sirena for pizza and pasta that pleases picky eaters. Both have casual atmospheres and English-speaking staff.
