1. 1.Park at the base near Victoria Road and walk up for the full experience, or drive to the summit parking area if you have very young children or limited mobility.

Entry is completely free with no tickets required. Limited parking is available at both the base and summit (summit lot fits about 10 cars). No food facilities on site, so bring your own snacks and water. Paths are mostly paved but have some uneven sections.

Open year-round with no seasonal closures. Summer (December to February) offers the warmest weather but can be windy at the summit. Autumn and spring provide mild temperatures ideal for walking. Winter months are cooler but often have the clearest days for photography. The track can be slippery after rain, so wear appropriate footwear.

Head down to Devonport village (5-minute drive or 15-minute walk) for family-friendly options like The Patriot Gastropub with a kids menu and outdoor seating, or Devonport Stone Oven Bakery and Cafe for fresh pastries, sandwiches, and excellent coffee. Both are very welcoming to families.
