Qurum Beach

Qurum Beach is one of Muscat's most popular family destinations, offering soft golden sand, gentle waves perfect for young swimmers, and excellent facilities including lifeguards on duty. October through March offers the most comfortable beach weather with temperatures ranging from 20-28°C (68-82°F). Visit on weekday mornings for fewer crowds, as weekends (especially Friday, the local weekend) draw many local families. Avoid midday visits year-round due to intense sun.

Entry to the beach is free with ample parking available along the beachfront. There are small cafes and food kiosks within walking distance, plus clean public facilities including restrooms and showers. The beach is accessible, though sandy terrain may be challenging for strollers.

Best visited during Oman's cooler months from October to March. Summer months (June to August) are extremely hot with temperatures often exceeding 40°C (104°F), making beach visits uncomfortable during midday. The beach is open year-round, 24 hours daily, but early morning or evening visits are essential in summer.

Qurum Beach has several cafes and restaurants along the adjacent Shatti Al Qurum area, including Al Angham restaurant at the Royal Opera House (about 5 minutes away) which offers family-friendly dining, and the Turkish House Restaurant which welcomes families and offers familiar Mediterranean cuisine that kids typically enjoy.
