Most workshops have minimal materials fees (usually a few thousand Rwandan Francs). Kigali is very clean and safe for families, and the Kicukiro district is easily accessible by taxi or motorcycle taxi (boda-boda), though ride-sharing apps work well for international visitors.

Open year-round with consistent programming. Kigali has a pleasant climate throughout the year, though the dry seasons (June to September and December to February) are most comfortable for travel. Special holiday workshops and exhibitions may be offered during school breaks.

Kigali has numerous family-friendly restaurants in nearby neighborhoods. Heaven Restaurant (about 15 minutes away) offers international and Rwandan cuisine with proceeds supporting local community projects, while Repub Lounge serves kid-friendly burgers and pizza in a relaxed setting.
