Långholmsbadet

Långholmsbadet is a delightful urban beach oasis in the heart of Stockholm, offering families a perfect blend of swimming, sandy shores, and green spaces along the waterfront. Best visited June through August during Sweden's short but lovely summer season. Weekday mornings offer the most space and tranquility, while late afternoons (4-7pm) provide warm temperatures with fewer crowds than midday.

Entry is completely free with no admission charge. There are public restrooms and changing facilities on-site, but food vendors are limited so bringing your own snacks and drinks is recommended.

While technically open year-round, this is primarily a summer destination. Swimming and beach activities are only practical from late May through early September. The beach can be enjoyed for walks and picnics in spring and fall, but facilities may be less maintained outside peak summer months.

Hornstulls Marknad (weekend food market about 10 minutes walk away) offers diverse kid-friendly international food stalls. Café String on Södermalm serves classic Swedish dishes and child-friendly fare in a casual atmosphere.
