Farsta strand

Farsta strand is a peaceful lakeside beach that offers families a genuine Swedish summer experience without the tourist crowds. Late June through early August on weekday mornings (9am-12pm) when the weather is warmest, the water temperature is most comfortable for swimming, and crowds are thinner than summer weekends.

The beach is free to access with nearby street parking available. Facilities are basic (no changing rooms or cafes), so bring everything you need including food, drinks, towels, and sun protection.

Best visited May through September when temperatures are warm enough for swimming. The beach is accessible year-round for walks, but swimming is only comfortable during summer months. Water temperature peaks in July and August.

Farsta Centrum shopping center (5 minutes away) has multiple family-friendly dining options including Max Burgers (Swedish fast food chain with playgrounds) and various cafes. For a treat after the beach, try Café Storbrunn for Swedish fika (coffee and pastries).
