Al Sarab Nature Trail

Al Sarab Nature Trail offers families an accessible desert adventure through the stunning Rub' al Khali (Empty Quarter). 1. 1.Visit in the early morning (6-8 AM) or late afternoon (4-6 PM) to avoid the intense desert heat, especially important for children's safety and comfort

October through March offers the most comfortable temperatures (20-30°C/68-86°F) for families. Visit early morning or late afternoon year-round to avoid peak heat. Weekday mornings are least crowded, giving children more space to explore safely.

The trail is located at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, approximately 2 hours drive from Abu Dhabi city. Non-resort guests may need to check availability and access permissions. The trail is relatively flat and suitable for sturdy all-terrain strollers, though sand sections can be challenging.

Summer months (June to September) are extremely hot with temperatures exceeding 45°C/113°F and are not recommended for children. Cooler months from November to February are ideal. Occasional sandstorms can close the trail temporarily, so check conditions before traveling.

The trail is at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort, which has family-friendly dining at Suhail Restaurant (international buffet with kids' options) and poolside dining at Ghadeer Restaurant. For a special treat, the resort can arrange private desert dining experiences suitable for families.
