Completely free to visit with street parking available along West End Road and surrounding streets. No cafe or facilities on-site, so bring your own snacks and drinks. Public toilets are located in the reserve. The flat, paved paths are excellent for strollers and wheelchairs.

Open year-round, 24 hours daily. Summer (December to February) offers the warmest weather and best beach access, while autumn and spring provide mild temperatures perfect for outdoor play. Winter can be windy and cooler but still enjoyable on sunny days. Check tide times if you want to explore the beach area.

Head to nearby Ponsonby Road (5 minutes by car) for numerous family-friendly cafes and restaurants including Burgerfuel and Prego. The Westmere Butchery and Deli on Garnet Road is excellent for picking up picnic supplies before your visit.
