Heifer Ranch offers a unique educational experience where kids can interact with farm animals while learning about global hunger and sustainability in a hands-on, engaging way. Located on a working ranch near Little Rock, children can participate in interactive exhibits, feed animals, and discover how farming impacts communities around the world through age-appropriate activities that make learning about social issues fun and tangible.

Spring (March-May) and fall (September-October) offer the most comfortable weather for outdoor activities. Weekday visits during school field trip season can be crowded, so weekends or summer weekdays may offer a more relaxed experience for families.

Most experiences require advance booking and registration as this is an educational nonprofit rather than a traditional open-to-the-public attraction. Programs have varying costs, and the ranch is located about 45 minutes from downtown Little Rock in a rural setting, so plan accordingly.

The ranch operates year-round but outdoor activities are more enjoyable in mild weather. Summer camps and special programs are offered during school breaks. Some outdoor experiences may be limited during extreme heat or winter weather.

Perryville has limited dining options, so consider packing a picnic or plan to eat in nearby Morrilton (15 minutes away) where you'll find family-friendly chains like Pizza Hut and local diners, or head back toward Little Rock for more variety.
