October through April are ideal months when temperatures are mild (60s-80s°F). Visit on weekday mornings to avoid crowds and the hottest temps. Summer visits should be limited to very early morning hours (right at 5 AM opening) as temperatures exceed 100°F by mid-morning.
$7 per vehicle entry fee (cash or card accepted). The park has restrooms and picnic ramadas but no food service, so pack snacks and lunch. Several trails are stroller-accessible, though a rugged all-terrain stroller works best on the packed-dirt paths.
Summer (June-September) is extremely hot with temperatures over 110°F,only recommended for very experienced desert families in early morning hours. Spring brings beautiful wildflower blooms in March-April. Winter months (December-February) can be surprisingly chilly in early mornings, so bring layers.
