Transportation requires advance planning as the farm is located outside Beijing proper, so consider hiring a driver or joining an organized tour since public transit access is limited and navigation may be challenging for international visitors.

The farm operates year-round but offers different experiences by season. Spring and summer feature berry picking and vegetable harvests, fall brings apple and pear picking, while winter activities are more limited and focus on greenhouse crops and animal care. Some outdoor activities may be suspended during extreme cold periods in January and February.

Pack a picnic to enjoy on the farm grounds, or head to Zhangjiakou city center (about 30 minutes away) where you will find family-friendly Chinese restaurants. Consider stopping at a local noodle house for hand-pulled noodles, a regional specialty that kids often enjoy watching being made.
