Haeundae Beach is one of South Korea's most famous family beaches, featuring over a mile of soft golden sand and calm, shallow waters perfect for young swimmers. Late spring (May-June) or early fall (September) offer the best weather with fewer crowds than peak summer. Visit on weekday mornings for the most space. Avoid July-August weekends when the beach becomes shoulder-to-shoulder crowded. Sunset visits (around 7-8pm in summer) are magical and less crowded.

The beach is free to access with public restrooms and outdoor showers available. Parking nearby costs around 5,000-10,000 KRW for several hours. Numerous convenience stores, restaurants, and cafes line the beachfront, and the area is stroller-friendly with paved walkways.

Swimming season officially runs June through August with full lifeguard coverage. The beach is accessible year-round, but winter (December-February) is too cold for swimming. Special events include the Haeundae Sand Festival in late May/early June and spectacular New Year's sunrise celebrations. Jellyfish can appear in late August.

The Haeundae Traditional Market (5-minute walk) offers authentic Korean street food including hotteok (sweet pancakes) and tteokbokki that kids enjoy. For a sit-down meal, the nearby Bay 101 complex has family-friendly restaurants with ocean views and Western options like pizza and pasta.
