Coronado Beach

Visit on weekday mornings from May through September for the best weather with fewer crowds. Early morning or late afternoon also offers cooler temperatures and stunning views. Winter months are quieter but can be chilly, though still great for beach walks and tide pooling.

Beach access is free with metered street parking available along Ocean Boulevard ($2.50/hour). Restrooms, showers, and fire pits are available. Several restaurants and shops are within walking distance in Coronado Village.

Summer (June-August) offers warmest water temperatures but biggest crowds. Spring and fall provide ideal weather with fewer visitors. Winter is quieter and great for tide pooling, though water is cold and you may need light jackets. The beach hosts occasional sandcastle competitions and holiday events.

Clayton's Coffee Shop offers classic diner fare that kids love including pancakes and burgers. Miguel's Cocina serves family-friendly Mexican food with a kids menu and relaxed atmosphere, both within a short walk or drive in Coronado Village.
