Fairytale Town

Fairytale Town is a whimsical 2.5-acre play park in Sacramento's Land Park where beloved nursery rhymes and storybooks come to life through 25+ themed play sets. Little ones can slide down the Old Woman's Shoe, visit Cinderella's Coach, meet friendly farm animals, and explore interactive exhibits designed specifically for preschool and early elementary-aged children.

Weekday mornings (Monday-Thursday) from 9:00-11:00 AM offer the best experience with smaller crowds and cooler temperatures. Spring and fall provide the most comfortable weather, while summer mornings are perfect before the Sacramento heat peaks in the afternoon.

Admission is very affordable (typically under $10 for adults and kids over 2, with memberships available for frequent visitors). The park has picnic areas where you can bring your own lunch, and William Land Park offers additional free parking and playground options adjacent to Fairytale Town.

Open year-round, but check for occasional closures during major holidays. Summer features extended hours and special programming, while fall brings harvest-themed events. Winter (December) offers magical holiday light displays and special character visits. Spring showcases the gardens in full bloom.

William Land Park has plenty of picnic areas, or head to nearby Freeport Bakery (a Sacramento institution with amazing pastries and sandwiches, about 5 minutes away) or Casa Garden Restaurant inside the park boundaries for casual Mexican food that welcomes families.
