1. 1.Bring closed-toe shoes or old sneakers you don't mind getting sandy,flip-flops make climbing the dunes nearly impossible and sand gets everywhere

This is a natural park with no playgrounds, restrooms, or facilities,just pure outdoor adventure. Street parking only is available, and admission is completely free.

Best enjoyed during cooler months (October through May) when sand temperatures are manageable. Summer visits should be scheduled for early morning or evening. The park can be windy during spring months, which actually helps keep everyone cool.

Uncle Bill's Pancake House (about 1 mile away) is a family favorite for post-dune pancakes and hearty breakfasts. The Kettle (also nearby) offers classic diner fare with a kids' menu and relaxed atmosphere perfect for sandy, tired adventurers.
