2. 2.Park in the lot off Rockaway Beach Avenue; it fills up quickly on weekends, so aim to arrive before 10am

Late morning on weekdays during spring and fall offers the best combination of smaller crowds and pleasant weather. Summer weekends get packed by midday, while winter can be chilly but perfect for tide pooling during low tides.

Beach access is free with public parking available (lot fills quickly on weekends). Several family-friendly restaurants line the beachfront, so you can easily grab lunch without leaving the area. Restrooms are available near the parking lot.

Spring offers the best tide pooling with lower tides and blooming sea life. Summer brings warmer water but bigger crowds. Fall provides excellent weather with fewer visitors. Winter can be stormy but offers dramatic wave watching from the safety of nearby restaurants.

Nick's Rockaway and Moonraker Restaurant both offer ocean-view dining with kid-friendly menus right on the beach. Both have casual atmospheres where sandy feet and excited kids are welcome.
