Iron Horse Trail

The Iron Horse Trail offers 32 miles of paved, mostly flat pathway perfect for family biking adventures, scooter rides, and leisurely strolls. The trail is completely free with multiple access points throughout Pleasanton. Parking is available at various trailheads, and while there are no food vendors directly on the trail, downtown Pleasanton is easily accessible from several points.

Open year-round, but summer months can get very hot with limited shade in some sections, so bring sun protection and extra water. Spring wildflowers add beautiful scenery from March through May. Winter months are pleasant for riding but may be muddy after rain.

Main Street Pleasanton (accessible from several trail points) offers family favorites like Straw Hat Pizza and Saffron Indian Bistro with outdoor seating. For a quick bite, stop by Peet's Coffee or Denica's Real Food Kitchen near the downtown trailhead.
