1. 1.Park at the main entrance off Scripps Lake Drive for easiest playground access and restroom facilities

Early morning or late afternoon on weekdays offers the best experience with fewer crowds and cooler temperatures. Spring (March-May) provides the most comfortable weather with green hillsides and wildflowers, while fall offers beautiful sunsets over the water.

The reservoir is free to visit with ample parking available. The paved trail is stroller and wheelchair accessible, though there are some gentle hills. No swimming is allowed, and dogs must be leashed at all times.

Open year-round from sunrise to sunset. Summer can be very hot with limited shade, so mornings are essential. Winter may bring occasional trail closures after heavy rain. Spring offers the greenest scenery and most comfortable temperatures for longer walks.
