Valleyheart Greenway

Valleyheart Greenway is a peaceful, paved path stretching along the Tujunga Wash that's ideal for introducing young kids to biking and scootering without worrying about traffic. Early mornings or late afternoons on weekdays offer the most peaceful experience with fewer cyclists and walkers. Fall through spring provides the most comfortable temperatures, as summer midday heat can be intense with limited shade along portions of the trail.

The greenway is completely free with ample street parking along Valleyheart Drive. There are no restrooms or water fountains directly on the trail, so plan accordingly and bring plenty of water and snacks.

The path is open year-round. Spring brings blooming vegetation along the wash. Summer mornings are best to avoid afternoon heat. Avoid visiting immediately after heavy rains when the wash may have standing water nearby.

Art's Delicatessen (about 2 miles away on Ventura Blvd) is a family-friendly classic with a huge menu and generous portions. Mendocino Farms in Studio City offers fresh sandwiches and salads with a kids' menu in a casual atmosphere perfect for post-ride refueling.
