Admission is completely FREE, making this an excellent budget-friendly outing. Parking is available on-site, and while there are no food facilities at the museum itself, the surrounding Belmar area offers numerous dining options within walking distance.

The museum is closed Sundays and Mondays year-round. Summer months often feature special children's programs and camps. The gardens are most beautiful in spring and summer, while fall offers harvest-themed activities. Winter visits can be chilly since most exhibits are in unheated historic buildings, so dress warmly.

Belmar shopping district is adjacent to the park and offers numerous family-friendly options including Chipotle, Smashburger, and Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh. For a sit-down meal, try Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom, which has a kids' menu and relaxed atmosphere perfect for hungry little historians.
