Standley Lake Regional Park is a sprawling 3,000-acre outdoor paradise in Westminster where families can enjoy a sandy swimming beach, rental paddle boats and kayaks, easy nature trails, and wildlife spotting all in one visit. With the Rocky Mountains as your backdrop, kids can fish from the shore, explore the wildlife refuge areas, and burn energy on trails while parents soak in the stunning scenery.

Weekday mornings (Monday-Thursday) from June through August offer the best beach experience with smaller crowds. Spring and fall are ideal for hiking and wildlife viewing when temperatures are cooler and migratory birds are abundant.

Daily vehicle entry fee is $10 (cash or card accepted). The park has restrooms, picnic areas, and boat rentals available seasonally. No outside motorized boats allowed, and dogs must stay leashed outside designated off-leash areas.

Swimming beach operates Memorial Day through Labor Day with lifeguards on duty. Boat rentals available late spring through early fall. Winter offers peaceful hiking but facilities are limited. Hours change seasonally,Sunday opens later at 9 AM year-round.

Head to Beau Jo's Colorado Style Pizza (about 10 minutes away) for family-friendly mountain pies and a salad bar kids can navigate themselves, or try Firehouse Subs on nearby 120th Avenue for quick, hearty sandwiches before or after your park adventure.
