Admission is completely free with no tickets required, though timed-entry passes may be needed during peak seasons. The museum has stroller-friendly elevators, family restrooms, and a café on-site, plus you're within walking distance of food trucks along the National Mall.

The museum is open year-round except December 25th. Summer months (June-August) are the busiest with extended hours occasionally offered. Special holiday-themed programs and exhibits often run during winter holidays and Black History Month in February.
