Entry to the beach is free, though you may need to pay for parking nearby (typically 2,000 to 5,000 Tanzanian shillings). Basic toilet facilities are available but bring hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Limited food vendors sell snacks and fresh coconuts, but bringing your own picnic is recommended.

The beach is accessible year-round, but the dry seasons (June to October and December to February) offer the best weather with less humidity and minimal rain. March to May experiences heavy rains that may limit beach activities. The ocean can be slightly rougher during monsoon transitions (March to April and November).

The Slipway shopping center, located about 15 minutes north, offers multiple family-friendly restaurants including pizzerias and cafes with high chairs and children's menus. For a local experience, try nyama choma (grilled meat) and chips mayai (egg and chip omelet) from vendors near Msasani Peninsula.
