Visit on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday mornings between 7:00-10:00 AM when wildlife is most active and temperatures are cooler. Winter months (November-March) offer the best bird watching with migratory species, while summer provides guaranteed alligator sightings.

Admission is FREE, making this an excellent budget-friendly family outing. The drive is only open Friday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the unpaved road can be bumpy in spots but is accessible for most vehicles (clearance not required).

Winter (November-March) is prime time for migratory bird watching and cooler temperatures. Summer months offer consistent alligator viewing but can be very hot and buggy. The drive occasionally closes after heavy rains when the unpaved road becomes difficult to navigate, so check conditions after storms.
