Tropical Park

Tropical Park is a sprawling 275-acre oasis in Kendall that offers something for every member of the family. With multiple playgrounds, a scenic lake, extensive walking trails, an equestrian center, and numerous sports facilities, this park is perfect for families who want to spend an entire day outdoors without running out of activities.

Weekday mornings (8-11 AM) or late afternoons after 5 PM offer the most pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds. Winter months (November-March) provide the most comfortable weather for exploring all 275 acres without Miami's intense summer heat.

Parking is free and plentiful throughout the park. There are restrooms and water fountains available, but no food vendors, so pack snacks and lunch. The park is stroller-friendly with paved paths, though some trail areas are unpaved.

Summer months (June-September) can be extremely hot and humid with frequent afternoon thunderstorms,plan morning visits only. The park is beautiful year-round but most comfortable November through April. Holiday weekends often feature community events and the park gets especially crowded.

Frankie's Pizza on Bird Road (5 minutes away) is a local favorite with a casual atmosphere perfect for hungry families. For a quick bite, the Kendall area along SW 88th Street offers numerous family-friendly chain restaurants including Chick-fil-A and Chipotle within a 10-minute drive.
