The scenic route winds through stunning Florida wetlands and natural landscapes, providing opportunities to spot wildlife like wading birds, turtles, and occasional alligators from a safe distance while getting the whole family active together.

1. 1.Start early in the morning (7-9am) for cooler temperatures and the best wildlife viewing opportunities when animals are most active

3. 3.Park at the northern trailhead off Black Creek Drive for easier access and better parking availability

5. 5.The trail is out-and-back, so you can turn around at any point,don't feel pressured to complete all 8 miles with little ones

Fall through early spring (October-April) offers the most comfortable weather for outdoor activities. Weekday mornings are ideal for avoiding weekend cyclist traffic and enjoying peaceful nature views. Avoid midday summer visits when heat and humidity can be overwhelming for kids.

The trail is free to use with ample parking at the trailhead. There are no restrooms or concessions along the route, so plan accordingly and bring all supplies with you.

Summer months (June-September) bring intense heat, humidity, and afternoon thunderstorms,best avoided for family outings. Winter and spring offer ideal conditions with mild temperatures and lower humidity. Wildlife viewing is best during cooler months when animals are more active.
