Visit on weekday mornings in spring (March-May) or fall (September-October) for pleasant weather, smaller crowds, and calmer waters. Summer weekends get extremely crowded, while early morning visits any time of year offer the best wildlife viewing and cooler temperatures for hiking.

Entry costs $8 per vehicle (up to 8 people), cash or card accepted. The park has restrooms, outdoor showers, and a camp store with snacks and beach gear, but bring your own lunch as dining options inside are limited. Portions of trails are stroller-accessible, though beach access requires navigating sand.

Open year-round with the best weather March through October. Summer (June-August) brings the warmest water but also the largest crowds and afternoon thunderstorms. Sea turtle nesting season (May-October) offers educational programs. Hurricane season (June-November) may cause occasional closures.

Schooners, just 5 minutes away, offers casual beachfront dining with a kids menu, outdoor seating, and frequent live music. Dee's Hang Out is a local favorite with fresh seafood, burgers, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for sandy families.
