Colonial Quarter

Colonial Quarter brings history to life with hands-on experiences that turn learning into adventure. Kids can actually fire muskets (with supervision), climb a historic watchtower for panoramic views, watch sparks fly at the blacksmith forge, and interact with costumed interpreters demonstrating colonial crafts and daily life in 16th-18th century St. Augustine.

1. 1.Arrive right at opening (10 AM) to beat tour groups and experience musket firing with shorter wait times

Visit on weekday mornings (Tuesday-Thursday, 10 AM-12 PM) when it's less crowded and kids get more one-on-one time with interpreters. Spring and fall offer the most comfortable weather for exploring the outdoor exhibits, while summer mornings are doable before afternoon heat peaks.

Admission tickets are required (check website for current pricing and family packages). The venue is located in downtown St. Augustine with paid parking available nearby or at the city's visitor center garage a few blocks away. No food service on-site, but you're within walking distance of many restaurants.

Open year-round with consistent daily hours. Summer can be hot and humid, so morning visits are recommended. The venue occasionally hosts special holiday events and historical reenactments,check their calendar for enhanced programming during Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.

The Floridian (5-minute walk) offers creative Southern cuisine with plenty of kid-friendly options in a casual atmosphere. For quicker bites, Harry's Seafood Bar & Grille serves burgers, fish tacos, and has a children's menu just a block away.
