This is a free, open-air park with minimal facilities, so plan accordingly. Restrooms and food options are limited, and the area is best reached by taxi or MTR (Light Rail to Kam Tin station) as it is about 45 minutes from central Hong Kong.

Best visited October through April when temperatures are mild and humidity is lower. Summer months (June to August) can be extremely hot and humid with afternoon thunderstorms. Avoid visiting during typhoon season warnings (July to September).

Head to Yuen Long town center for family-friendly dai pai dongs (outdoor eateries) and traditional Hong Kong cafes serving noodles, rice dishes, and egg tarts that appeal to kids. Yuen Long is also famous for wife cakes and other pastries available at local bakeries.
