Spring and fall offer the most comfortable temperatures for outdoor play, with beautiful foliage in October. Weekday mornings or late afternoons are ideal for avoiding crowds, while weekend mornings before 11am give you a head start on the busier afternoon rush. Summer evenings (after 5pm) are lovely when temperatures cool down.

Parking is free and plentiful in the main lot off Court Avenue. There are no entrance fees, making this an excellent budget-friendly option for families. Restroom facilities are available on-site, but bring your own snacks and drinks as there are no food vendors in the park.

The park is open year-round, though playground equipment may be too hot to touch during peak summer afternoons (opt for morning or evening visits June-August). Fall brings beautiful leaf-peeping opportunities along the trails. Winter visits are possible but playground equipment and trails may be snow-covered. Spring is particularly lovely when everything greens up, typically March through May.

Big Four Burgers + Beer (0.4 miles away) offers classic burgers and a kids' menu in a casual atmosphere. For pizza-loving families, Parlour on Spring Street (0.6 miles) serves up excellent pies and has a family-friendly vibe perfect for refueling after park play.
