La Salle Park

La Salle Park is a spacious community hub in the Kenner/Metairie area that offers something for every member of the family. Weekday mornings (8-11 AM) or late afternoons (4-6 PM) offer smaller crowds and comfortable temperatures. Fall through spring (October-May) provides the most pleasant Louisiana weather for outdoor play, while summer visits are best scheduled for early morning before the heat peaks.

The park is free to visit with ample free parking throughout. Restroom facilities are available on-site. While there are no food vendors, the pavilions make it easy to bring your own meals, and several family restaurants are located within a 5-minute drive on Airline Drive.

The park is open year-round with extended hours (5 AM-10 PM daily). Spring and fall offer the most comfortable weather for extended play. Summer months can be very hot and humid, so morning visits are recommended. The park occasionally hosts community events and holiday celebrations, particularly around major holidays.

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers (less than 2 miles away) is a Louisiana favorite that kids love, or try Zea Rotisserie & Bar on Veterans Boulevard (about 3 miles) for healthier options with a good kids' menu in a casual atmosphere.
