Early morning between 7-9am from October through April offers the best wildlife viewing when animals are most active and temperatures are comfortable. Weekdays are less crowded, and cooler months mean fewer bugs and more tolerable humidity for families with young children.

Entry is free with no entrance fees. Most access points have limited facilities, so plan bathroom breaks before arriving and pack all snacks and water you'll need. Trails can be uneven and slippery, and strollers are difficult on most paths.

Spring (March-May) brings baby alligators and migratory birds but also peak mosquito season and occasional flooding. Summer is extremely hot and humid with intense bug activity. Fall and winter (October-February) offer the most comfortable conditions with cooler temperatures, fewer insects, and excellent wildlife viewing as animals are more active.
