Beddington Park

Beddington Park is a sprawling 97-acre green oasis in South London that offers families an incredible variety of activities without spending a penny. With multiple playgrounds catering to different ages, scenic lake walks, open spaces for sports and picnics, and dedicated nature trails, this park provides hours of entertainment for children of all ages while parents can relax in beautiful, historic surroundings.

Weekday mornings from 9am-12pm offer quieter playground access and easier parking. Spring (April-May) and early autumn (September) provide the best weather with beautiful scenery, blooming flowers, and comfortable temperatures for outdoor play without summer crowds.

Admission is completely free. Parking is available on surrounding streets but can be limited on weekends. There are no on-site cafes, so bring snacks and drinks. Public toilets are available, and the park has paved pathways suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Open year-round, dawn to dusk. Spring brings beautiful blossoms and baby ducklings at the lake. Summer can get very busy on sunny weekends. Autumn offers stunning foliage and conker collecting opportunities. Winter visits are still enjoyable but dress warmly, as there is limited shelter. Some paths may be muddy after rain.

The Plough pub on Beddington Lane (10-minute walk) offers a family-friendly menu with a children's play area. For more variety, Wallington town center is 15 minutes away with several chain restaurants including Pizza Express and Nando's, both with dedicated kids' menus.
